Rethinking the Makerspace

11:30AM - 12:15PM
Student-Alumni Council Room

Makerspaces have become an increasingly popular development at many institutions—an exciting movement for sure, but not everyone is a "maker." An approach that focuses on mindsets (such as creativity, collaboration and solutions development) instead of space itself, offers new ways to promote creative coursework, entrepreneurship and research activities that engage students across all fields of study. This session will explore practical examples of new learning experiences that support making, design thinking and immersive interaction (VR/360 video),  including a creative 20-minute hands-on group activity conveying the central theme.
