The current global pandemic and dwindling resources in educational opportunities have been a source of major concern. Our panel focuses on approaches to expand access to educational and research tools available at Ohio State while adopting course content that is relevant to students, instructors, and the community at large.

Teaching Anatomy Remotely During a Pandemic: Challenges and Innovations in Facilitating Knowledge Connections

Anatomy is a 3D subject traditionally taught in-person (lecture with dissection laboratory). Our first-year veterinary anatomy course moved to 100% online in Autumn 2020, which posed challenges for both students and instructors. In this presentation, we'll discuss how this course moved to hybrid in Autumn 2021 with several innovations, including active learning activities and class format reorganization, such as flipping the classroom.
