Distance Education Symposium

UPDATE (MARCH 20, 2020): The Office of Distance and eLearning has spent the last several weeks supporting keepteaching.osu.edu. Given the magnitutde of these efforts and the decision to postpone Spring Commencement, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Distance Education Symposium. We are working on future opportunities to network with colleagues involved in online and hybrid learning at Ohio State.

We invite you to join the Office of Distance Education and eLearning team for a targeted half-day symposium the day before Innovate: Transform.

Faculty, staff and administrators engaged in online and hybrid education are invited to gather during this free event to share best practices, network and build partnerships.

Chief Information Officer Mike Hofherr and Associate Vice President of Distance Education Robert Griffiths will kick off the event with a welcome address and keynote, sharing updates and goals for distance education at Ohio State. Concurrent session tracks offer attendees options to hear from leaders in either program administration and support or course design. Short consultations with Office of Distance Education and eLearning staff in the areas of new online programs, course and multimedia design, or marketing are available every 15 minutes during concurrent sessions.

The included buffet-style breakfast and lunch are a perfect opportunity to extend your network with others engaged in similar work.

Location

Cartoon Room, Ohio Union
1739 N. High Street
Columbus, OH 43210
