Try Out Quizzle: The Open Tool that Will Change the Way You Test
This session is your opportunity to get hands on with Quizzle, a brand new open assessment tool from Ohio State and Penn State. Join us in the Imaginarium after our companion Lightning Ideas session to see the tool, learn about assessment best practices, sign up to contribute in your discipline and start testing with open assessments.
Starting in 2017 as Content Camp, Ohio State’s collaboration with BTAA, Unizin and colleagues at Penn State has now developed into both a web-based tool and a faculty development model to create high quality, peer-reviewed open test banks. So far, we have over 12,000 individual test questions in ten highenrollment courses, and we’re excited to grow more. Assessment items in Quizzle are mapped to course topics, learning level, question type and more. Site contributors are faculty experts and all items are free to use, easy to download and remix.
Ashley Miller is Associate Director for Affordability and Access in Ohio State’s Office of Distance Education and eLearning. She manages the Affordable Learning Exchange, which works with partners across the university to support faculty who wish to move away from conventional course materials in favor of low-cost and Open Educational Resources. She is passionate about transforming classroom learning experiences and helping to make higher education more affordable for students at Ohio State and beyond.
Alexis Duffy is the Project Coordinator with Ohio State’s Affordable Learning Exchange. She holds degrees from Michigan State University, Emerson College and The Ohio State University. With a background in educational publishing, Alexis works closely with grant winners as they plan and implement affordable solutions, including writing, remixing and adopting open textbooks.
